This primarily includes domain extensions that are not tied to a specific country or region, such as .com, .net, .org, .info, .shop, .online, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of their oversight, they verify the information (like the email address) of the person registering a domain name. Therefore, after registering your domain name, you may receive an email from ICANN asking you to validate your email address. This ensures that you are using a valid and verified email address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is very important to validate your email address if you receive such an email from ICANN. You can do this by clicking the link in the email within 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"htoc-when-might-i-receive-a-verification-email\"><strong style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">When might I receive a verification email?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><p>You may receive a verification email from ICANN at various points. A new verification email will be sent in the following situations:<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><p><strong style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Registration (or transfer) of an ICANN domain name<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\"> using an email address that has not been previously verified.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><p><strong style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">When updating the owner\u2019s details.<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\"> If you provide a new email address that has not been validated, ICANN will send you an email for verification.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"htoc-what-happens-if-i-don-t-confirm-my-email-address\"><strong>What happens if I don&#8217;t confirm my email address?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you fail to confirm the verification of your email address within 14 days, all domain names registered with that email address will be temporarily suspended by ICANN.
