How do I enable two factor authentication?

Two factor authentication (2FA) is an added protection layer for your access. In addition to your username and password, you can link your account protection to your smartphone/phone number.

There are multiple applications you can use for two-factor authentication. In our case we will be looking at Duo Mobile, a free 2 factor authentication app that works for both iOS and Android users.

  1. Log into the control panel
  2. In the upper right corner, click on your name, then choose ‘Personal Information’
  3. Navigate to the left and click on Two-factor authentication.
  4. Next, just click on the button ‘Configure two-factor authentication’
  5. The next screen will give you a 3-step instruction on how to setup your additional authentication.
      1. Download an app of your choice. We are using Duo Mobile for this example.
    1. You will find a QR code you can scan with your device to set it up. Alternatively there is an alphanumeric sequence you can enter into your app instead of scanning your code.
    2. After you have scanned your QR code your app will produce a code you need to enter back into the control panel – on the third step.
    3. Click on Activate two-factor authentication.
  6. If you go through the procedure correctly, you will now see message Two-factor authentication is active.
  7. From now on, when you log in, after typing in your username and password, you will have to enter the code from your Two-factor authentication app again.

Optional: In Settings >> General settings you can opt to Require two-step verification for all users of this customer account
